✅ Good News from Your Local Policing Team ✅

The Aston Neighbourhood Team made a number of successful enforcement activities this week including:

The team have also been involved in a joint agency operation with the Road Harm Prevention Team traffic officers and the DVSA, taking enforcement activity against a range of road traffic offenders. The team issued tickets and provided advise to road users.

Furthermore, one of our officers has attended and helped support the Athletic Championships which was taking place nearby.

The Aston Neighbourhood Team hosted a community fun day for parents and children at Burbury Park, joined by a number of agencies including local youth workers, Community Safety Partnerships Officers, Community First Responders with West Midlands Ambulance Service, the Black and Asian Police Association, the Burbury Park Forum, and West Midlands Police traffic department. 

A big thank you to the agencies who assisted in making this day successful, and to those who visited our community day. Another special thank you to K from the Onyx student accommodation for donating snacks, sweets and drinks for the community. 

The goal of these community engagements and operations are to increase awareness of reporting mechanisms to West Midlands Police, increase trust and confidence with our communities, increase our visible presence in the local area and to engage with our partnerships and the public. 

The team also has a focus on the safeguarding of vulnerable individuals in the community. Our Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) has made several referrals this week to services to support individuals from the homeless community. 

✅ Crime Prevention Tips:

Based on recent reports of increased vehicle crime in the area, we would always advice that you lock and secure your vehicle when unattended and keep valuables out of sight.
